Long Lake Hideaway | 3 BD Cottage | Shared Beach Access

This place was very well thought out and comfortable. We appreciated the quiet location and proximity to town. We traveled with dogs and they set out extra amenities for them and they even felt at home.

Really great location. The place is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood, with a short, scenic drive to all the action. We had a really nice time. Also, great hosts, provided great recommendations for things to do and see in the area.

We ended up in Traverse City because our car broke down, and it ended up being just the vacation we needed. We had such a relaxing time-- truly, it's what I always want an Airbnb to feel like, just perfect. The house was a short walk from a playground for the baby, and a bit longer than that to get to a lake that was gorgeous at sunset. We had everything we needed, even things we couldn't have anticipated. Any questions we had were answered very quickly. We already want to come back!

Really neat house! A little far from downtown and difficult to get an Uber/Lyft but otherwise it was charming, clean, and the host was very accommodating.

The cottage was wonderfully decorated. The host thought of a million different “extras”. The host was extremely responsive and easy to work with. The cottage was very private and it was a nice and relaxing stay.

I stayed at this cottage for 3 days during June. It was an absolutely amazing place to stay. It's in a fantastic area, 15 minutes from downtown Traverse City, and 40 minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes. So it felt like we were far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to go out and have fun. The house is great,it had all of the amenities I wanted from an Airbnb. It had a full stocked kitchen (pots, pans, etc) even some games in the basement (board games, air hockey foosball). Additionally, being dog friendly, it was perfect. I traveled with my girlfriend and our 2 dogs. They loved it as much as we did. It's walking distance from a small beach that is exclusive to people on the peninsula. We took our dogs down there, and they loved swimming. The neighbors at the beach were super nice and giving us tips. The only odd thing is one of the bedrooms is only accessable through another bedroom and a bathroom. We didn't use it but it might be a slight inconvenience for people staying together. This was my first ever airbnb and I'd gladly stay here again!

The customer service was first rate! The accommodation was beautifully appointed and every detail was thought of to make our stay as comfortable as it could be. The hosts truly went above and beyond to furnish amenities such as doggie bed and dog treats and baby toys and everything was brand new! We were so impressed with the thoughtfulness of the hosts.

The property is lovely. I wish I could give it a 5start review. However, I travel a lot for both pleasure and business and I rely on comments a lot. There is really nothing wrong with the property there is just some <3 Heart missing. If I wanted to stay in a property like this I would have preferred a hotel for a similar value. The perks about coming to Airbnb is that it feels like a home away from home. Even though the property looks like it's straight out of a magazine, the kitchen was hard to use. With the mugs being in different area, no oil or butter to basic cooking, basically the kitchen is not very practical. Not to mention how expensive the cleaning fee for one night is. All of it felt like all business and no heart. The space is very clean, nice location, we didn't find the beach listed so we went back up to Traverse city.

What a perfect location for a TC getaway. The house is surrounded by beautiful trees and nature and has ideal setup for outdoor hanging at night. We also enjoyed our time at long lake beach where we got to swim and play with the dogs (dogs can’t swim in Lake Michigan) so this was a nice alternative!

This double cottage was the perfect place for our long weekend family vacation. There were 6 of us with 2 dogs and we had plenty of room. The area was quiet with some woods around the house. There was a nice fire pit in the back and three decks. The hosts thought of everything. They left doggie toys, snacks, good and water bowls, a pet bed and other helpful items. Would definitely stay there again. The game room downstairs is a nice addition.

This is a really cute and convenient place to stay. It is made of two adjoining cottages with recent updates to every room. It is very stylish and cozy, with everything you need for cooking and living especially for longer stay. There is an entire room for kids with games and full-size foosball and smaller air hockey tables. It is located in a private subdivision, and by car it only takes 10 minutes to get to the grocery store and Moomer’s ice-cream, 15 min to Traverse City and 30 min to Sleeping Bear Dunes. There is access to a very nice kid’s playground that even has a volleyball net (about 3 minute walk) and a small beach on Long Lake with a pier and a pontoon float further away from the shore (10 minute walk.) Overall, we loved staying here and would return in a heartbeat.

Everything about the house was first class. Decorated very tastefully. Lots of extra details for the visitors to make you comfortable and at home. House is located in a pretty area too with great walking opportunities around the lake. Would definitely stay here again if traveling to Traverse City.

This place was absolutely amazing! We walked around the neighborhood and it felt so nice and relaxing. It was very peaceful both inside and outside of the house. The house was really amazing. It was everything and more! The host did a great job including the little things (toothbrushes, makeup remover, feminine hygiene products, etc). We really appreciate the effort that was put into the place. Everything looked just like the pictures. Me and my friends would definitely stay here again!

Great place and location, perfect “up north” getaway. All the amenities provided, and tastefully done throughout. Also, great communication and it was clear the hast wanted to make sure we had what we needed to ensure a great week at the property.

It was a lovely cottage and the location was very convenient for many of the places around that we visited. It was very clean and well organized. With multiple living areas and outdoor areas (we did not get to enjoy the outdoors since it rained during our trip) it was nice to spread out. We had a slight issue with the heating in the cottage since the weather changed suddenly the day we reached. The host communicated very well and sent in someone to fix it the next morning. The third bedroom is accessed through the second bedroom and the bathroom. That wasn't an issue with us but perhaps can be for others.

Located in a wonderful area. We enjoyed walks around the peninsula every day. Cute and homey accommodations. We loved our stay!

The cottages were. Great place to relax. The host Dandan was great in communication. The cottages were very clean and organized. All amenities were there, even iron and iron board to prepare for wedding. The upstairs loft and bedroom suited for a family but does lose a little privacy, as you walk thru loft bedroom and bath room to go to back bedroom, we knew about it and had no issues. The door separating the two “cottages” was great for early risers and coffee time. Would for sure stay here again and even looking at the hosts other locations in Traverse city. Thank you again for a great stay!!

House was cozy & we enjoyed ourselves despite having issues upon arrival.

The place was clean and well decorated. Communication was great. Serene outdoors although we didn’t spend much time outside. Location is close enough to drive into town for dinner or work, but far away enough that you don’t feel “in town” - at all.

This was the best Airbnb rental we’ve ever stayed at! The hosts thought of every detail possible. The space was absolutely beautiful! Pictures don’t do it justice. It was immaculate and perfect. Super easy check in and check out. They even have treats and towels sit right next to the entryway for dogs, which are clearly welcome. The location was gorgeous. My parents, my husband and I were super comfortable, and enjoyed our own living spaces with our own bathrooms. It was perfectly outfitted with everything you could ever want or need! Just a wonderful stay! We look forward to booking again during our next visit to Interlochen. Many thanks to our gracious hosts!

We were extremely pleased with our stay. The home was clean, comfortable, well-appointed, spacious, and beautifully decorated in a lovely area. The home had everything we needed and lots of extras that were not expected (toiletries in case you forgot anything and supplies for our dog). The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you could need, even including an Insta Pot and glassware for storing leftovers. While allowing dogs, the home was still spotless. Residents of the area were very friendly and the host was very responsive, quickly replying to any of our needs. Would definitely stay here again!

The cottage(s) are very clean , updated. and spacious. The location is in a cute very walkable lake community with walking paths and a park/ playground which our dogs loved. The only negative I can think of is that the mattresses were a little too hard for us but the couches were very comfortable and others may prefer a more firm mattress so may not be a negative for others. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this Airbnb!!

Great place, but the beds were rock hard. Loved the extra doggy supplies they provided for us! However the chores and exorbitant cleaning fees took away from the overall experience.

We had a wonderful weekend at this residence! The cottage is cozy, clean and has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. The neighborhood is very scenic and peaceful as well. Dandan responds to queries in a timely fashion and provides clear instructions in order to make the visit as seamless as possible. She even provided pet supplies and toys when we indicated that we would be bringing our dog with us!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Having stayed at many others, I can say this was the cleanest and most stocked rental we’ve stayed at. Everything was extremely organized and labeled, making things easy to find. The host was responsive as well and very easy to communicate with. As other reviewers have mentioned, all of the beds were very firm so if you prefer a medium or soft mattress, this is not the property for you. Otherwise, I highly recommend!

Such a cozy and beautiful getaway, perfect for a weekend with friends, family or your significant other. The Airbnb was well-stocked with anything we might need, and Dandan made sure to check in with us regularly throughout our stay.

The house was exactly as shown, however we did encounter some issues during check-in and the following day. My partner and I traveled with our four month old baby and senior dog. We checked in late because of traveling with a baby and arrived just short of midnight. Finding the house in the dark was impossible and we ended up getting stuck in the wrong driveway. The homeowner called the police, and thankfully they were able to help push us out. Upon check-in we found some outlets and light switches to not work including the bathroom light switch adjacent to the kitchen. The following morning I went to give my baby a bath and the water was no where near warm enough for him. Mid-morning (around 11am) we decided to try and venture out and grab lunch in town. Upon returning a few hours later, the driveway had not been touched and we could not get our Jeep up the drive. We ended up leaving early and were refunded 1 night and half the pet fee, without taxes or fees being considered.

This was my first Airbnb rental and I could not have asked for a better first-time experience! Dandan was a superb host and answered all my questions quickly and efficiently. She accommodated all my needs and went the extra mile in making our trip a memorable one. Her place included all the amenities one would want and even bonus items if you forgot something such as toiletries. An added bonus was the game room and full service laundry room. It was a short walking distance to the lake and park that my family enjoyed. The place is modern, fresh, spotless and provided all the comforts of home. The location was easy to find and is in a nice secluded neighborhood, only minutes away from downtown Traverse City. The people in the area were very friendly. This is such a lovely home in a quiet, peaceful setting but close to everything. The host thought of everything and had many extra items available in case a guest forgot an essential. She was also extremely responsive and helpful. We would definitely book again. This was such a wonderful experience all around.

Great place and probably the best stocked Airbnb we’ve stayed. Cute and clean especially considering pets had stayed in the cottage previously. Our family has allergies to dog/cat dander, but we had no issues staying here. Our kids enjoyed foosball and air hockey table in the basement. No regrets booking this place.

This home provided such a pleasant experience for us in Traverse City. The decor was tasteful, and my husband and I think it had everything we needed as a family. My seven year old said he liked the basement the best. I did not tell him about the foosball table or air hockey, so when we arrived there, he was very excited. Our three year old said he liked the big kitchen the best. :) It was a dog-friendly home, which was just what we needed on this vacation. We enjoyed taking walks on the peninsula and even found a community playground a few houses away. Most importantly, the home and everything in it was clean, and we felt very comfortable. Thank you!

Our stay here was wonderful. The location was perfect for fall with all of the beautiful foliage surrounding the cottage and only 15 minutes to downtown TC. We had 5 adults and 1 infant and it worked very well for us having separate spaces and bathrooms. We would definitely stay here again.

We such a fun family vacation here! Small and quaint, perfect for a short getaway. Such a cute house with lots of things to do within a short driving distance.

Stayed with my daughter and her boyfriend and the set up was perfect to allow for required privacy but still feel on vaction together. Home is lovely and as described online and as depicted in the photos. Host does a great job of preparing guests for their stay and provides a great deal of information regarding nearby restaurants and points of interest. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay, completely meet our needs. Would for sure stay here again if we are in the area.

This is a lovely place. It is not hard to find, yet when you are in the home you feel like you are nestled into the woods. The place is large, has anything you might need, very comfy. We had a slight heat issue and management was very responsive in fixing it. I highly recommend this place and we will revisit for sure!

This home was very nice with the two units connected adding to hang out areas. Everything was clean and the distance from TC was not too far of a drive.

Our family had a wonderful time at long lake hideaway. The house is just as pictured with lots of thoughtful touches from extra items a guest may need to night lights, sound machines and extras for our fur friend. Our kids - ages 8-13, loved the game room and the small park less than a 7 minute walk from the house. The host was warm and very attentive. The location is perfect! Great hide away in the traverse city area, especially pet friendly! Pet toys/towels and bowls were provided to help make our stay with our pup as clean and easy as possible. Not obvious to us on the description, but there is a small park a short walk away from the home providing plenty of green space for our doggo to walk around and sniff. Location was a a nice base to check out sleeping bear, traverse city and the Leelenau/Mission penninsulas and their wineries.

We loved our stay at Long Lake Getaway! The cottage was charming and comfortable with a homey feel. We loved coming back from a busy day to the quiet, beautiful and tranquil surroundings of Shady Lane. Dandan was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. We would absolutely stay here again!

Space was accommodating with nice decor. Found some cleaning issues within the home that will be addressed by the host moving forward for future rentals. Landscaping looked unkept with cobwebs, debris and dirty chairs throughout both patio areas. Just didn’t look like the rental had been touched since last season and/or was prepared for our visit. My overall rating is 3.5…

Great location as it’s in a private area, but an easy drive to Traverse City. House was very thought out with everything you would need for an extended stay. Very clean and welcoming environment. Would not hesitate to stay at one of Dandan’s listings again.

My husband and I loved our stay! Dandan was incredibly kind, accommodating, and we felt right at home. This house opened up after a last-minute cancellation and I’m so glad I scooped it up. We came to the area for a family member’s graduation party and thoroughly enjoyed how close it was to both TC and Interlochen. It was perfect for two mini poodles and our 8-month-old daughter. The pack-and-play and high chair were great additions to the house and gave our small car that much more room to bring home a box of wine from a local winery. Thank you, Dandan, for the great stay!
