Norra House- Curated home, 5 acres in wine country

Kara's place was beautiful and clean! We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's birthday with family, and were able to be close to Traverse City but have a larger place to stay at. Instructions and amenities were great and just as listed and we were all so pleasantly surprised at how comfy the beds were - I have found this is usually my biggest pain point with other Airbnbs. Very peaceful and private location, we stargazed at night and had a wonderful time.

My friends and I had the best time staying here in the winter! The place is so stunning and cozy, especially with all the snow adding its own charm. Enjoyed our stay so much, we’re already talking about coming back here in the summer. We checked out Hop Lot Brewery, explored downtown TC, and went tubing at Mt Holiday! The kitchen here was perfect for cooking dinners together. The family room perfect for a movie night and offered plenty of options for a fun game night. The place was exactly what we were hoping for. A quaint, yet beautiful, little house in the woods. The home had such a warm, cozy, and intentional energy. We completely enjoyed our time. It was a great location to Traverse City and within Leelanau Peninsula. Beautiful decor and comfy bed (we only slept in primary bedroom on main floor). Count go wrong with this place.

We had a wonderful stay! Place is beautifully furnished, comfy, and plenty of space for our 3 adults, 1 kid, and 1 toddler. The play nook, toys, and games were an added bonus! Loved relaxing by the fireplace and sledding in the yard.

Nora House was exactly what we needed. Great house, great location, quiet, peaceful and comfortable. Attention to details is what makes this vacation rental a place we will visit again and again. We love the Suttons Bay area.

Absolutely fabulous

In every respect this property was wonderful: art, decor, furniture, supplies, comfort, appearance, cleanliness... a yardstick by which to evaluate other locations. Far above and beyond expectations. The King size bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchenware - plates, bowls and cups were so impressive - that I am ordering a set. It is obvious that Kara was meticulous in her selection of so many impressive aspects of the home. From art to... novels and informative books about the area. Excellent soaps, shampoo and some basic kitchen supplies including olive oil. My 3 night stay was far too short. This was home and highly recommended for a one or two week stay.

We absolutely loved this place. Beautifully designed and so peaceful. Our kids loved it too. There was snow all around the house in late March/early April, which was the best thing ever to our Florida kiddos. Plus three sleds in the garage to sled down the hill in the front yard. We sledded, made snowmen and snow angels. It was lovely. I also discovered an unknown love for 1,000 piece puzzles. Just bummed I didn’t have another day to finish the one I got 2/3 through. Wonderful place, kind and responsive host, can’t recommend this place (and I’d imagine her other listings as well) enough.

We had a wonderful time. The home is beautifully decorated and feels just like you’re at home! Great location, a quick drive to downtown TC and close to so many beaches, parks, wineries and more! Will definitely come back to stay!

Enjoyed a birthday weekend up north in early spring with three plus an infant. Kara's place was lovely - the furniture is comfortable, and the plants make the space feel homey. We enjoyed turning on the electric fireplace and just relaxing. Bedrooms were very comfortable. While the views from the windows in early spring aren't anything to write home about, the windows provide for good natural light and the house is far enough from M-22 that it feels a bit secluded. Rooms aren't super sound-proof, so you hear things throughout the house, something to note if that matters for you or your group; didn't bother us much! The spot between Traverse City and Suttons Bay is well-situated for exploring the peninsula. We enjoyed the short walk to Lelanau Cheese for their lovely Raclette and the quick drive for pastries from Nine Bean Row.

We’re superhosts, have stayed at many, many airbnb’s around the world, and Kara is a host’s host - a truly outstanding, brilliant stay - definitely our favorite experience in michigan, possibly even in the top 10 we’ve experienced in the world.. Her modern yet warm style is very design forward, creative and fun; she has every personal touch and thoughtful convenience, the location is both secluded and close to everything you need, the grounds are perfect for a warm gathering of your group. This is simply too good an experience to pass up - wherever you hail from, this stay is worth the journey. Book it before everyone realizes it ..

We had a brilliant stay at Kara’s Airbnb - a beautiful house just as described with so many thoughtful touches like the welcome book, gift and the postcards! Would recommend if you want somewhere local to Sutton’s Bay and Traverse City.

We had an incredible time at Norra House. The location was really convenient. It was an extremely short drive into Suttons Bay and maybe 15min from Traverse City, so it was very easy for getting where we needed to go. The house looked amazing. The first thing my wife said when she saw the inside of the house was “You did well!” The house was extremely clean and really well decorated. The kids loved the upstairs room with the twin beds and the small kids house built into the wall. Overall, this was an incredible place to call home while we were on vacation!

Kara was a wonderful hostess. She was very responsive to our requests. The home was perfect for our family. The high chair, portable crib and toys were really appreciated. The home was very clean and well stocked. We had a great time touring Suttons Bay and Traverse City. I highly recommend this terrific home and hostess.

The Nora house was so beautiful and relaxing! There was plenty of space for our two families of 8 with 4 young kids. The home was clean, well stocked and beautifully decorated. The yard was so fun! We made s’mores, found baby birds in a nest in the tree by the deck, foraged mulberries and wild strawberries. The kids loved to explore. The house is located in a great location with great shops and restaurants near by. Kara was super responsive and friendly. We would definitely stay at the Nora house again. Thanks Kara!

Lovely house, everything was perfect!

My family and I stayed for a couple nights in Kara’s beautiful home. Everything was spotless, clean and exactly as the pictures represent. The decor is tasteful and we felt right at home. Our little girls loved the play house upstairs. It was a perfect resting spot and in a great location to all of the beautiful wineries and beaches of Sutton’s Bay. We had a wonderful stay, what a beautiful home and property. We loved the Sutton’s Bay area and this home was perfectly situated to explore. Our son loves the playroom in the upstairs bedroom and we loved the local kid-friendly recommendations. Couldn’t recommend more!

This house is stunning! Beautifully decorated but also so homey with all the amenities you can think of. It is perfectly located between Traverse City and downtown Suttons Bay and just a jump away from Leland. This weekend we rented this home for two people but could easily accommodate two more couples or even our kiddos. It was very clean, organized, and felt like our home away from home. We will definitely be back!

We loved this house for our girls trip! There were 6 of us and felt the house had plenty of space, clean, and beautifully decorated. The host was extremely helpful and quick to respond to any questions. We had a wonderful stay!

Kara and her co-host were excellent: proactive, responsive and always available. Her place is in a near-perfect location, private and serene and yet a hop to all your destinations around. Yes, M22 could be busy, but we didnt hear any noise from inside, and we walk 5miles a day, and there is a few entrances to the Leelanau Trail easily accessed from S+N of the cottage, so we had beautiful walks and highly recommend it. Her cottage is adorable and cozy with upscale furnishing and comfy beds. Had a lovely time and hope to be back soon. Thanks again Kara!

We absolutely loved the Norra House!! Kara gave us fantastic instructions for check-in and check-out and I can't say enough good things about the property. We traveled with our 2 children (7 and 2.5) and my parents and had an incredible time. The house was set up perfectly for the group of people we had. We've stayed at 3 different homes around Leland/Suttons Bay and this was by far our favorite. It was SPOTLESS, decorated beautifully, and actually had comfortable beds (hard to find)! The home is situated perfectly in the woods, but close enough to the main road that you can get to downtown Sutton's Bay really quickly. We will definitely request to stay here again and look forward to recommending this home to our friends who want a peaceful getaway.

We loved our stay at Kara’s home! It was cozy and exactly like the pictures. We had plenty of room for our family of 5 and the kids items were so nice to have stocked there! Great location and super clean, my kids already want to come back for another visit!

Cozy place if looking for a peaceful and quiet getaway. A little small for our family with a baby and toddler but would be great for a couple or two. About 40 min round trip driving from traverse city but close to Suttons Bay (highly recommend electric bikes from Ride on the TART trail!) and comfortable driving distance from Northport. Liked trying Two K ciders and Hoplot which were both very close. Enjoyed the back deck with the string lights and lots of birds singing. Very well stocked home and hosts had great communication.

We rented the house for a 5-night stay to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday. The house did not disappoint - it is located in a peaceful setting, clean, and nicely designed. Not to mention, the location is perfect for exploring the peninsula. We really enjoyed our stay!

Lovely home, perfect for our group of friends. Suttons Bay turned out to be the perfect location for us. Close enough to Traverse City but being on the Leelanau peninsula and the neighboring towns was great when we didn't want to deal with the traffic in Traverse (because of some road construction in the city).. Enjoyed the biketrail nearby and all the area had to offer. Home was spotless. Bedding very comfortable. No problems whatsoever. Would definitely recommend.

A very nice, immaculately clean, well decorated and maintained home. All necessities were provided for and we had no hiccups with using the home. Short drives to all the great towns in the area. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great "homebase" in Leelanau County.

We had a fantastic stay

House was perfect for 2 sets of parents - of bride and groom - for a wedding on Leelanau Peninsula. Everything was tip-top shape. Simply know that it is 2-3 miles south of SB along M22 and that one of the nice bedrooms is off the kitchen. But it is one of the nicest if not THE nicest Airbnb we have rented. Have fun!

We had a wonderful stay at the Norra House! The house was beautifully decorated and thoughtfully furnished. As soon as we walked though the door, we felt immediately at home and very cozy. The whole house was very clean and had all the amenities you could possibly need. Very well stocked for cooking, campfires and beach days. The location was very private and quiet. We enjoyed the peace and quiet while spending time on the deck in the evenings. Very close to wineries, and downtown Suttons Bay and a quick drive to Sleeping Bear. Kara provided a guidebook with many helpful recommendations for places to eat, drink, shop and things to do. The decor was beautiful, the beds were very comfortable and we loved all the thoughtful amenities. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back! Thank you for making our stay so memorable!

If I could give Kara's home ten stars, I would. This was the cleanest, most comfortable and aesthetically pleasing Airbnb I have ever stayed in. You could not find a speck of dirt if you tried. I am a worldwide traveler and I've also stayed in a LOT of places up on the peninsula and I was absolutely blown away. Kara has thought of everything: extra comfy mattresses and pillows, scannable instructions, a fully stocked kitchen (including crock pot and blender), plushy towels and amenities, etc. The sunlight streaming through the front and back windows provided a sense of calm and solace. I don't have children, but there is an adorable upstairs play space tiny tots would love. No expense has been spared in the curation of this home - it inspired me to give my own home a facelift. I will be back!
